Renaissance Zone

The state of Michigan designated a portion of Pierson and Reynolds townships as a tax-free Renaissance Zone. Currently Wolverine Worldwide, National Surface Preparation, a plastic extrusion company and a paper processing company are located in the zone.

Businesses located in Renaissance Zones save money in many ways! They do not pay:

  • Single Business tax
  • State personal income tax
  • 6-mil state education tax
  • Local personal property tax
  • Local real property tax
  • Local income tax
  • Utility users tax
